BBC, ITV and Channel 4 HD channels will be available along with S4C HD in Wales bringing your favourite soaps and dramas, documentaries and even the 2010 World Cup in full HD glory. Five HD aims to launch on Freeview HD in late 2010.
How do I get Freeview HD?
Freeview HD gives you an enhanced TV viewing experience. The new technology will make use of your HD ready TV, broadcasting up to 5x better picture and sound quality.

There are 2 ways you can view Freeview HD.
1 – Buy a Freeview HD or Freeview+ HD receiver.
Freeview HD box are like the old Freeview boxes, except you will connect it via a HDMI/RGB cable rather than a scart lead.
Freeview+ HD recorders connect via a HDMI/RGB cable rather than a scart lead. The Freeview+ HD boxes will have recording capabilities via an internal Hard Drive.
If you are planning on buying a new TV in the near future, it might be worth your while buying a HDTV with built in Freeview HD.
2 – Buy a Freeview HD digital TV.
All new compatible HDTV’s will bare the Freeview HD logo, showing they are approved for the new HD broadcast standards. Not only will these new TV’s get the standard Freeview and HD channels, but these products will give you a much rounded user experience.
